As a teenager, I had a dislike for school.
I vowed that if I could just get through high school,
I would never enter another school.
Just a few days after graduation, I experienced a call from God to preach.
This meant a need to prepare, so after two colleges and two seminaries,
I now have three degrees and a lot of years invested in learning. I am still learning.
My pastoral experience began as a college student when I was nineteen.
I was so blessed to be pastor of Sharon Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This was followed by two seminary pastorates in Texas at Shady Grove in Greenville
and First Baptist in Anna.
After graduating from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary,
I had an eight year ministry as pastor of the Salem Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This was followed by twenty- four years as pastor
of the First Baptist Church in McMinnville, Tennessee.
While pastoring in McMinnville, I received an earned Doctors Degree in Ministry from
Trinity Theological Seminary in Indiana.
In 1998 I retired as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
This was a wonderful six years!
Since then I have served as Interim Director of Missions for the Palm Lake Baptist Association,
and then served as an interim administrator at the Boca Glades Baptist in Boca Raton, Florida.
I have served as interim pastor of Victory Baptist in West Palm, and also served
as interim pastor, First Baptist Greenacres, Sherbrooke Baptist, and serve presently at
Haverhill Baptist in West Palm Beach.
It has been my privilege to preach in many churches in our association since retirement.
I have enjoyed creating web sites for Palm Lake Baptist Association, several pastors and churches
in our association, and in placing sermons on my web sites.
All of my sermon sites have had over 7 million hits from more than 140 foreign countries.
It has been my privilege to conduct revivals in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas,
Michigan, and Florida.
I have been blessed to have been in Korea, Philippines, and Venezuela on Partnership Missions.
My wife, Pat, and I have been married for fifty-three years.
Our children, Mista and Devin, have had many interests in their lives.
Mista lives near us with our two granddaughters -- Skylar and Seaira.
Devin and his wife, Monty, live in North Carolina with our grandson -- Cage, Cruise and Coda.
Monty is a stay-home- mom and is a wonderful mother to those three grandsons.
Pat and I are grateful for our family!
Pat stays busy with her computer, and other hobbies that she enjoys.
Preaching, computing, and grandchildren occupy much of my time.
I still enjoy sports - that is watching them!
Some years ago I knew very little about computers, and I am still learning.
I hope to use what I have learned to communicate to others that which I hope will encourage,
inform, and inspire.
God has given me the opportunity to give back the sermons and other resources
that He gave to Me.
I am indebted to so many churches, pastors and church members for all
they have contributed to my life and my ministry.
